Miel de Huahine
Light and perfumed, with vanilla-flower nectar and a soft, gentle sweetness.
Polynesians call Huahine "l'île jardin" — the garden island — for its lush, wild greenery. Local beekeepers produce this 100% natural honey with unheated, artisanal methods, and it carries the signature of the island's flora, including the nectar of vanilla flowers. Islanders describe it as a magical potion.
Why it's rare: French Polynesia banned honey imports in 2011 — not to sell more honey, but to protect its bees. These islands hold some of the last varroa-free colonies on Earth, and the entire territory harvests only about 200 tons a year. Every jar is single-island, raw, and independently lab-tested.
How to enjoy it: Drizzled over yogurt or fresh fruit, stirred into tea, or straight from the spoon.
